Wilma Walker Miller passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. She was born on October 14, 1948, in Anniston, Alabama to Robert Lee Jackson "Jack" Walker and Mary Sanford Walker. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Freddie Leon “Fred” Miller; her father, Jack Walker; her brother, Robert Walker.

Wilma was a loving mother, grandmother, and cherished friend to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her life was marked by dedication and passion in all her endeavors, and her memory will forever be cherished by those she touched. She was a graduate of Henry County High School and was named Ms. Henry County during her senior year.

Wilma's professional career was nothing short of extraordinary. In 1970, she embarked on her journey in the airline industry, joining Southern Airways. With an unwavering commitment to excellence, she climbed the corporate ladder, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues. Her educational pursuits were equally remarkable, earning her an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Management from Clayton State University in 1997, and a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management from National Lewis University in 2003. These achievements reflected her determination and thirst for knowledge.

Her professional journey culminated in 2013 when she retired from Delta Airlines, having held the prestigious position of Vice President and serving as the General Manager of TechOps Training. Throughout her career, Wilma demonstrated unparalleled dedication and leadership, leaving an indelible mark on the industry and inspiring those who had the privilege of working with her.

Wilma's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was a devoted and faithful member of McDonough Presbyterian Church, where she found support, strength, and a loving community. Beyond her professional and religious commitments, Wilma was a loving mother and grandmother who treasured her family above all else. She was a beacon of love and support, always ready to extend a helping hand or an encouraging word to those in need. She reveled in the success and happiness of her children and grandchildren, taking immense pride in their accomplishments.

Wilma is survived by her son, Benton (Paige) Belk; daughter, Beth (Chris) Scarboro; grandchildren, Brett Benton (Stephanie) Belk, Emilee Brooke Belk (Morgan) Doggett, Brynlee Madison Belk; great-grandchildren, Blakely Caroline Belk, Everly Claire Belk; mother, Mary Sanford Walker; siblings, Mike (Lori) Walker, John Walker, Cindy (Dennis) Zabala, and Doug (Lesa) Walker; as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and extended family members.

A Funeral Service to honor Wilma’s life will take place on Friday, November 17, 2023, beginning 2:00 PM at McDonough Presbyterian Church, 427 McGarity Road, McDonough, GA 30252. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 16, 2023, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors.
