William "Bill" Altman
December 31, 1933 - December 21, 2020

“Bill” Altman, age 86, of Wartace, TN, passed from this life Monday, December 21, 2020, at home surrounded by his family after an extended illness.

Bill was born December 31, 1933, in Gastonia, NC to the late Rollin and Mattie Earnest Altman and was preceded in death by: wife of 62 years, Joyce Clydene Gordon Altman; and brother, James Rodney Altman.

Mr. Altman was employed as a station agent for various airports. He started his career with KCPR of Casper, WY, and had several stops throughout TN; such as, KSVI of Shelbyville, TN, TRI of the Tri Cities, KPHT of Paris, TN, and retired from BNA of Nashville, TN. He also worked as a weather announcer for the local A.M. radio station in Shelbyville, WLIJ. He served his country in the U.S. Army as a MP. He enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife; most notably, together they visited all 50 states. He loved music and was a very talented singer, having recorded several records in his younger days. In his free time he enjoyed farming, reading, and carpentry.

Survivors include: children; Vint (Kristy) Altman of Wartrace, Melissa (Jimmie) Carney of Halls Mill, grandchildren; Gina Campbell (Russell) Molder, Sharla (Brad) Holland, Wade (Kristy) Campbell, and Joshua (Stephanie) Altman, great-grandchildren; Kaley (Zack) Warren, Emily (David Church) Holland, Erin Holland, Colton and Taylor Molder, Danae, Malachi, Titus, Callia, Anaiah, and Roman Altman; also great great grandchild, David Wayne Church, III.

Per his request, a private family graveside will be held.
