He had a great sense of humor and to the end of his days could make people smile, which was one of his gifts to the world. He is survived by his son, Whitney A. Coulon, III; his grandchildren, Whitney “Chip” A. Coulon, IV, Sean-Paul Coulon, Zane Coulon, Olivia Coulon, Sophia Coulon, and Rhett Coulon; seven great grandchildren, Whitney “Quinten” A. Coulon V, Ethan Coulon, Connelly Coulon, Liam Coulon, Isabelle Coulon, Teagan Coulon, and Sean-Luc Coulon; his brother, Melvin Coulon; and his sister, Marion Woniger. Whit graduated from Berman High School at 15 and attended LSU where he graduated with a degree in Petroleum Engineering in 1941. He played trumpet for the LSU Fighting Tiger Band while at LSU. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until service time. Internment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
