Mr. Walter Wayne King, age 80 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Friday, December 22, 2017, at Dyer Nursing Home. Funeral services for Mr. King will be conducted on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 3:00pm in the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Rutherford Cemetery, in Rutherford.

He was born September 2, 1937 in Dyer, TN; the son of the late Dave Bailey and Lou Ozella (Garner) King. He was a supervisor for Northwest Airlines for 35 years, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Dyer. He served his country with the US Navy. 

He is survived by his wife, Veneeta King; three children, Roger Wayne King (Pauline), Michael Edward King (Bum), and Pamela Leigh Eling (Stefan); one sister, Dorothy Clark; two brothers, Larry King, and Billy Joe King; three grandchildren, Brian King, Taylor Eling and Matt Eling; and two great grandchildren, Mikayla King, and Emma King. He was preceded in death by his parents; and several siblings, Emerson King, Ralph King, Cecil King, Clarice Warren, Grace Eakes, Robert King, and Laverda Crouse, and one step grandchild Eli Joseph Reyes.

The family will receive friends from 12:00pm-3:00pm on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Walter Wayne King.
