Russell Gene Houser
August 1, 1953 - February 26, 2019

Russell Gene Houser, age 78, of Hiram, Georgia passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2024.

He was born on June 12, 1946 in Charleston, Arkansas to Vernon and Esthel Houser. He graduated from Scranton High School in Scranton, Arkansas in 1964. After graduating, he served in the United States Navy. He worked on airplanes while in the service and that inspired him to go into aviation. He graduated from Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Oklahoma and had a career in aviation which he loved. He enjoyed volunteering at Mount Paran Church of God where he was a member and served as an Elder. He enjoyed working on classic cars, exercising in his gym, riding bicycles, walking, playing tennis, and traveling. He, along with his wife, traveled to all the states and to many countries and in 1992 flew around the world. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Houser of Scranton, Arkansas; his mother, Esthel Houser of Scranton, Arkansas; his sister, Kathleen Banning of Clarksville, Arkansas; his brother-in-law, Jackie Banning of Scranton, Arkansas. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Pat Harrison Houser of Hiram, Georgia; sister-in-law, Helen Smith (Tom) of Brunswick, Georgia; sister-in-law, Jo Winslette (Larry) of Rome, Georgia; niece, Gayle Banning of Clarksville, Arkansas; niece, Susan Anuszkiewicz (Larry Edenfield) of Brunswick, Georgia; niece, Talisa Jones (Drew) of Sneedville, Tennessee; niece, Julie Robinson of Dallas, Georgia; nephew, Allen Smith (Amy) of Brunswick, Georgia; nephew, Bill Smith (Takako) of Woodstock, Georgia; niece, Kate DiAngelis (Patrick) of Indian Trail, North Carolina; niece, Robin Hale of Waynesville, Georgia; as well as many other great nieces and great nephews. 

Mr. Houser will be laid to rest at McKendree Cemetery in Subiaco, Arkansas. There will be no funeral service in Arkansas. A private service will be held at a later date with Pastor Emmanuel Guglielmi from France officiating.
