Obituary​

Robert E. Owens, Jr., 87 of Germantown passed away October 16, 2017.  Robert was born in Memphis to Robert E. Owens, Sr. and Ardene Ingleright Owens.  He graduated from Tech High School and from University of Mississippi with a BBS and served in the United States Air Force.  Robert was a pilot with Northwest Airlines and retired after 33 years of service.  After retirement he enjoyed golf and traveling with his wife, Ann, to many destinations around the world.  He loved watching his grandchildren play ball and cheering on his Ole Miss Rebels football team.  He was an active member of Germantown Baptist Church.  Robert leaves his wife of 60 years, Ann Downen Owens; daughter Jeri Bechard; son Robert E. Owens, III; brother Bill Owens and three grandchildren, Rob Owens, Mitch Owens and Ben Bechard and his beloved dog, Bo.  A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, October 20 at Memorial Park Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 11:30.  Burial will follow with U.S. Air Force honors in Memorial Park Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Church Health Center or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
