Mary Ellen Coley Taylor
May 10, 1941 - May 18, 2023

Mary Ellen Coley Taylor, 82, of Kingwood Texas, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023 surrounded by her family, after a two year battle with cancer.

Mary was born on May 10, 1941 to Robert and Opal Coley in Tupelo, Mississippi.

In 1958 Mary married Merrill Taylor and they have enjoyed 64 years of marriage. They have two children, nine grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

Mary was a passionate gardener and quilter and has won many awards in both areas and she loved traveling with her beloved husband. When she wasn’t sewing or planting, you could find her spoiling grandchildren and great grandchildren. She has been a member of Kingwood First Baptist for over twenty years. She was an active member of their life group and has worked in Vacation Bible School and on many committees over the years.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Opal Coley, her brother and sister-in-law Bob and Diana Coley, sister-in-law Judy Coley, and niece and nephew Jennifer and David Lee Coley. Mary is survived by her husband Merrill Taylor, daughter and son in law Deborah and David Knight, son and daughter in law and Rob and Debbie Taylor and grandchildren Ashlee and Tyler Knutson, Taylor Knight, Coley and Miranda Taylor, Amanda Knight, Michaela Knight, Stella and Joe Wilson, Sondra and Slava Morari, Krista and Hipolito Marquez, Valentina and Ryan Morris, and great grandchildren Parker, Dallas, Alexis and Carson Knutson, Caleb, Carley and Cambry Taylor, Zane and Kai Goudelock, Juliet and Daniel New, Oliver, Anastasia and Elijah Morris, and Emilia Marquez.
