Obituary​

Mr. Marion Reynolds Swinford, age 85, of Summerville, GA, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023.

Marion was born in Rome, Georgia on January 9, 1938, son of the late William Otto Swinford and Mable Lucille Madden Swinford.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Cynthia Grace Pavely Swinford, son, Troy Douglas Swinford, brother, Paul Swinford, and sister, Carolyn Sims.

Marion was employed with Northwest Airlines as the director of maintenance. Marion was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was a member of the Dixie Stompers line dancers of Rome. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend and he will be missed by all.           

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Foster Swinford; son, William Henry Swinford; brother, Mather Swinford (Carolyn); sister, Charlotte Bedwell (Billy Ray); grandchildren, Camron McLaughlin (Linda-Kay), Brittani Swinford (David); great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 2:00pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, with the Rev. Nanci Hicks officiating.  Interment will be later in Georgia National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, on Saturday, May 20, 2023, from 12:00 pm until time of service.
