Obituary
Leslie Homer Tutor Jr., age 83, of Ardmore, Oklahoma, passed away on July 1, 2026. He was born in Ashland, Wisconsin on July 17, 1942 to his parents Leslie and Catherine (Soulier) Tutor Sr.. He lived in Wisconsin throughout his childhood and teenage years.
After high school and a year of college, Les enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp and served from 1961-1965 ending his service at the rank of Corporal. Nine days after his honorable discharge, he married the love of his life, Martha Jane Flowers, in Moultrie, Georgia. Following his military service, he found himself working for Southern Airways in Moultrie and Albany, Georgia, then Tallahassee, Florida. He transferred to Oklahoma City with Northwest Airlines retiring after nearly forty years. He wasn’t quite ready to retire completely, so he took on the position of “silage sculpture” as he lovingly called it working with two of his favorite people, daughter and son-in-law, with Rockin’ Z Ranch. After the passing of his loving wife, Marty, in 2018, he moved to Ardmore with his daughter, Lesley, to officially retire and enjoy the Papa life.
He was a fun loving and caring son, brother, husband, dad, uncle, papa and friend. He enjoyed people watching in his travels, dining out, and gatherings whether at church or not. Watching TV and movies, spending time with loved ones, either blood or “adopted”. He is fondly remembered by those who knew him best as hardworking, easy to love, funny, and kind-hearted. He will be greatly missed by all.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Marty; his parents; his parents in love James and Ruby Flowers; siblings Phillip Tutor, Joseph Tutor, Geraldine Tutor, Elmer Tutor, Bruce Tutor, and Douglas Tutor.
He is survived by his daughters, Tawanna Zeller and husband Philip and Lesley Tutor; grandchildren Lakota, Makena, & Ayaisha Zeller and Grady Tutor; siblings, Larry W. Tutor Sr. and Doris Strehlau and husband Daniel; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and many friends that became family.
