Harry “Skeeter” Terry, son of Harry W. Terry and Mildred Doyle Terry passed away Sunday, December 3rd. Skeeter graduated from South Side High School in Memphis where he played baseball and football. He obtained his private pilot license in high school.

He graduated from Memphis State University in 1969 where he played baseball for the Tigers. His position was 1st base and one of his most exciting games was when he made an unassisted triple play against Delta State.

After graduation Skeeter was employed by Southern Airways, Republic Airlines, and Northwest Airlines for over 30 years. After retirement, he worked for United Auto Exchange and continued working there until September 2023.

Skeeter was a big Memphis Tiger fan attending many baseball, football, and basketball games. Skeeter loved attending St. Louis Cardinal baseball games, and also attending all the Memphis Red Wings hockey games at the coliseum. He became involved with the Memphis RiverKings years later. Skeeter was so proud of his son, Drew, who also played hockey in college, and went on to play for Oklahoma City, Fort Worth, and the Memphis RiverKings. Other proud moments; Drew getting his many pilot licenses and Drew getting married to his wife, Christy.

Skeeter leaves behind his mom, Mildred Terry, his sister, Becky Terry Evans (Sam), his son, Drew Terry (Christy Spell Terry). He is also survived by aunts, Peggy Kross of Franklin, TN, Pat Sisson (Ed) of Franklin, TN and uncle, Perry Doyle (Linda) from Warner Robbins, GA and many cousins. He will also be missed by nephews, Jason Tinnin (Steffany), Chase Tinnin (Allie), and niece, April Tinnin Chapman (Phil).

The family would like to thank all his nurses, rehab professionals, and the staff at Baptist Reynolds Hospice House.

A celebration of life will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday, December 8th, 2023 at Brookhaven Pub and Grill patio, 695 West Brookhaven Circle, Memphis, TN 38117. Skeeter would expect a casual affair in your best pair of jeans and Tiger blue. We will toast a glass to honor this special man who was deeply loved by so many.
