Floyd Graves, Jr. was born June 26, 1943 to the late Floyd Graves, Sr. and Frances Margaret Young in San Francisco, CA. If asked where he was from, he'd say Texas, which is where he grew up. He loved it there! During high school Floyd enlisted in the Army. He was in the Special Forces, and went to VietNam in 1961, where he was injured and held captive. He was proud to serve his country. Upon returning to the states Floyd moved to Miami, FL. This was 1964. He married in 1967 to Marsha Ann Rutherford. They have four children, their Ts. Tammy, Timmy, Tommy and Teddy. Floyd worked for and retired from Northwest Airlines in 2002. Company changes took place through the years. In 1974, when Floyd was hired, it was Southern Airways, which became Republic, which became Northwest, and is now Delta. He felt so blessed to have gotten this job.Floyd is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dale Preston Graves. Surviving him are sister and brother-in-law, Suzanne and Dennis Vaught of Carlsbad, NM; sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Greg Glenn of Amarillo, TX; and brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Jeanae Graves of Enterprise, AL; wife of 46 years, Marsha; children, Tammy and David Farley of Zebulon, Timmy and Beth Graves of Allen, TX, Tommy and Jennifer Graves of Fayetteville, and Teddy Graves of Griffin. He has been so blessed to have many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. His family was his riches. Friends may visit the family on May 16, from 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on May 17, at 4 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Shelton officiating. Moody-Daniel Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements
