Charles Edward Livingston
December 26, 1943 - July 10, 2021
Charles Livingston passed away at his home with lovEdwae ones by his side on July 10, 2021.
He is preceded in death by his parents, JL and Juanita Livingston and a sister, Lynn Livingston.
Charles will be missed by his wife, Alayne and 2 sons, Mike (Suzanne) Livingston and Matthew (Shellie) Livingston. He also had 4 grandchildren, Whitney (Dustin) Brown, Marley (Patrick) Thrower, Danielle (Muriz) Smajic and Hunter (Shea) Livingston. He had 4 great grand kids, Brody and Jake Barnwell, Millie and Bailey Brown. He will also be missed by his sister, Carolyn Lovvorn and 2 brothers, Gerald (Margaret) Livingston, Wayne (Jane) Livingston, niece and nephews.
Charles graduated from Oxford High School and went to work at Lee Brass Foundry. His career then went to the airline industry where he worked for Northwest Airlines for 36 years. His career in the airline industry started in Oxford with time spent working in Michigan and Memphis. After his retirement from the airline industry, he started working at the Oxford Senior Citizen Center.
Charles was very active with youth sports in the Oxford area. He spent many days teaching young men his knowledge of the games in the 60 and 70’s. During that time, he served as commissioner for the Oxford Baseball for Youth for 12 years.
Charles favorite pastime hobby was playing golf. His passion for sports was present in his love for his Auburn Tigers and following his alma mater, Oxford High School. His other hobby was collecting M&M memorabilia.
A funeral service will be on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the Toby Miller Chapel at Miller Funeral Home. Max Gaskins will be officiating. A burial will follow the service at Forestlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on the same day from 12:00 pm until the time of the service.
Pallbearers for Charles will be Billy Dempsey, Clifford Crumley, Dalton Cates, Terry Preston, Hunter Livingston, and Hal West
