Obituary

As we come together today to celebrate the life of Beverly Smith Lynch, a cherished member of our community, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and dedicated professional in the airline industry. Beverly, born May 25, 1934, in Atlanta Georgia, left us peacefully on September 3, 2024, in Fayetteville, Georgia, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Beverly’s journey through life was marked by her warm spirit and loving nature. She was the heart of her family, which included four children, ten grandchildren, and twenty-six great-grandchildren, who all benefited from her wisdom and unconditional love. Her siblings, Nancy Alexander, Herbert Smith, Phillip Smith, and Phyllis Henry, remember her as a guiding light in their lives.

Beverly’s educational journey concluded with her high school graduation, a foundation that led to a remarkable career. She served with distinction as a purchasing agent at Southern Airways, as a secretary at Republic Airlines, and later as a secretary to the Vice President of Northwest/Delta Airlines. Her professionalism, efficiency, and warmth made her a beloved figure within the airline community.

Beverly’s interests outside of work were simple yet profound. Beverly had a passion for puzzles and computer games, which kept her mind sharp and engaged. She found solace and joy in watching birds from the comfort of her sunroom, a reminder of the beauty and simplicity of life.

We are reminded of Beverly’s immense capacity for love which was evident in the way she lived her life and loved the people in her life. Beverly Smith Lynch’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her and loved her. Her life was a testament to the power of love, family, and dedication to one’s work and passions.

She will be deeply missed, but we take comfort in knowing that her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. Beverly’s journey was one of love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to those around her.
