Barbara Jean Thomas (BJ), age 83, of Stockbridge, Georgia passed away October 13, 2020 at Sacred Journey Hospice in McDonough, Georgia. BJ was born October 25, 1936 in Locust Grove, Georgia to her parents Clyde and Ellie Cothran. She was raised in Henry County Georgia and graduated from McDonough High School in 1954.

BJ was a wonderful daughter, wife and nana and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She always enjoyed playing the piano and singing at the Stockbridge Assembly of God Church where her father was the pastor for many years. BJ retired from Delta Airlines with over 30 years of service. Although she is gone from this earth, she will forever live in our hearts.

BJ is survived by her loving husband of 49 years W. Jay Thomas, daughter, Kaye Thomas-Dill (Rodney), granddaughters Brandi Thomas Wells (Van), Amanda Dill White (Dallas), and Lauren Dill Nash (Jared), great-grandsons, Jason Dobson, Jr. (Caitlin) and Jordan Dobson (Hailee), Judah, Cooper, Braden and Ethan White. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Clyde and Ellie Cothran and son Michael J. Thomas.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 12:00 pm in the chapel of the Horis A. Ward Funeral Home in Stockbridge, Georgia. The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
